Typical amounts

Maximum at 65 (January 2026): $1,507.65 a month. Average for new pensioners (July 2026): $858.34 a month. Waiting longer, up to age 70, increases your monthly payment for life.

If you have only lived and worked in Quebec, your record is with the Quebec Pension Plan and isn't shown in My Service Canada Account.

Step by step

  1. Sign in to My Service Canada Account.
  2. Open the Canada Pension Plan section and choose "View my benefit estimates".

This uses your actual contribution record.

  3. Check your statement of contributions.

It lists your contributions and pensionable earnings by year. Errors here change your pension.

  4. Compare starting ages with the Canadian Retirement Income Calculator.

Add OAS and your savings to see your full retirement income at 60, 65 or 70.
