A Sign-In Partner lets you sign in to your CRA account with your online banking details, through Interac. Participating banks include BMO, CIBC, Desjardins, National Bank, RBC, Scotiabank, TD, Tangerine, Simplii, Wealthsimple and several credit unions. Your bank doesn't see your tax information.
Participating financial institutions
As listed by the CRA: Access Credit Union, Affinity Credit Union, ATB Financial, BMO Financial Group, Caisse Alliance, CIBC, Coast Capital Savings, connectFirst Credit Union, Conexus Credit Union, Desjardins Group, Digital Commerce Bank, Libro, Meridian Credit Union, National Bank of Canada, RBC Royal Bank, Scotiabank, Servus Credit Union, Simplii Financial, Steinbach Credit Union, Tangerine, TD Bank Group, UNI, Vancity and Wealthsimple.
Is it private?
Yes. According to the CRA, your bank doesn't receive your tax information or know which government service you use, and your banking details aren't shared with the government.
Common problems
- Forgot your banking password or got a new bank card: contact your bank.
- Changed your online banking details or got locked out: register again for a CRA account.
- Want to switch banks: if you can still sign in with your current partner, choose Sign-In Partner on the CRA page, then "Switch My Sign-In Partner". If you can't, register again.
- Shared computer: don't use browser autofill for banking details, or your SIN could be linked to someone else's banking sign-in.
